I would be remiss not to open this note with a word of gratitude to all of you. Sloppy Discs has been quite a ride in just a short amount of time. I am immensely thankful for your support, participation, patience as I figure this whole thing out, one week at a time.

I started Sloppy Discs ("Slops", affectionately) without much of a runway or a vision, to be perfectly honest. No road is without bumps. We've had some. Some days I feel proudly ahead of the curve, other days I feel like I’m screaming into the wind and that the algorithm will consume this along with everything else.

This much I know: the best thing about Slops is getting you know you all, and get to be part of your movie-watching lives. If nothing else, I'm so glad to be connecting with people and keeping the IRL magic of movies alive.

What's in store for the next year? I seriously don't know. Time will tell. For now, I remain your steadfast pop-up video clerk and my number one wish is to keep seeing you at Broken Clock and at the Main Cinema.

To those of you who have perhaps been meaning to check out Sloppy Discs, or haven't rented in a while... now is the time! Dates for the rest of 2025 are up at sloppydiscs.com and on Instagram.

love,

emmet

Happy birthday, Sloppy Discs
