News from Sloppy Discs – 11/17/24

Yesterday, I was described as being “fully alive” and in my “final form” and you know what? I’ll own it. That’s what happens when you ask me “what discs have good director’s commentary,” or “I need a dumb action movie, but not *too* dumb.”

We’ve had a lovely two weeks of previews, now let’s light this candle. If you haven’t heard already, we’re hosting a launch party – a premiere, if you will – on Saturday, November 23rd from 10am to 2pm. Expect the usual handpicked selection of movies, plus free donuts, doorbuster deals, giveaway goodies, and general frivolity around films on physical media.

Huge thanks to everyone stopped by, looked curiously from afar, and rented discs. It’s hugely gratifying to see when others share an interest in your arcane hobby. It really means a lot.

You probably know that small businesses need word of mouth! (That, and a follow on Instagram) I’d also love to know what you’re watching and when – tag your Letterboxd entries with “sloppy discs” and you’ll get a guaranteed like and a comment :)
